This sounds amazing! As a new mom I love seeing this type of community forming and really appreciate you both carving out space for other creative moms. That’s really generous of you ♥️
Oh congratulations to you and your family! What a precious (and intense time) - I watched a lot of middle of the night BRIDGERTON episodes with shortbread and hot chocolate for company in Luna’s first weeks.
I do have a question, I’m an artist and writer but I don’t really have a business fully set up for my work (it’s more a side project). Is it still possible for me to donate at the Friend level and just link to my artist website/writing substack?
How beautiful - yes of course and we will link to your chosen links every time we post here so if that changes over the course of the year we can update too. ✨🧩✨ I’d be so interested to see your work! 🥰
Kieran I’m just catching up now - Claire has shared so many gems so far. Let me know if you have any other questions (and thanks so much for saying you’d like to contribute) xx
Thanks Laura! I guess one question I have is if I can submit my donation but send you the bio information on the form at a later date. Right now I'm in a sleep-deprived-newborn-baby fog and don't quite have the mental energy to write something legible for it 😆
Ah Kerani I absolutely hear you! A friend has asked the same thing and that’s totally fine as we’ll be chatting via email once the first episode is ready so we can get it sorted then. ✨✨
Very exciting! I'm still getting my head around Substack- I find all the different sections really confusing the way it mixes up content between different Substacks I'm subscribed to- sure I'll get my head around it once I get more familiar! Planning to start my own one soon. I wondered what you thought about using Substack to host a membership instead of Circle? It seems really flexible and a good way of combining your free stuff and paid stuff! I love your approach and how you're supporting others who support you :-) Count me in!
Yes it’s taken me a while to find my way between the app, the desktop version and the email version! Suddenly I’ve got into a groove and it’s my new favourite place on the internet. It’s so funny you say about hosting a membership on here - as you know I’m hosting one on Heartbeat at the moment but I am about to move to here I think. I can’t seem to tag Claire right now but would love her thoughts on this too xx
I’ve launched a paid membership here and it’s working well. I add journal prompts and zoom/ video behind the paywall.
Let me know if you have questions on it?
For group courses I’d still use a blend of my online course platform and whatsapp/ Voxer.
I’m not sure what you mean about sections - maybe it depends who you are following? I think on the desktop sections are pretty clear if the writer points it out but on the app it’s impossible to know if a section is “for you” until you get into the writing a bit? I have a Masterclass on Substack if you want more and I publish a weekly Friday email around creativity and intentional growth here but happy to chat in comments here too!
Yes for sure. There’s defo a content burn out for me but I’ve been here a year and I can only subscribe/ participate so much in one place - I want to read books to! 📖
Thank you for creating this space! I'm relatively new to Substack (6 mo) and being a mother (almost a year!) and have been really excited by the community I see here but also looking specifically for a community of parents/moms with young kiddos. I'm staying home full time right now but also trying to get my writing career (a pivot from a career in healthcare) off the ground. Doing both can be daunting sometimes but I am just trying to take it slow and enjoy this time as a mom of a young kiddo and young business!
I'd love to connect with other parents/moms in a similar position! I'm located in the Midwest in the U.S. but well-traveled and keen to make friends with international parents, too!
Oh welcome Mariah! We’re so glad you’re here! That sounds a very exciting season to be in! How are you finding Substack? How did you find us at Company or Two?! ✨💕👩🏽💻🙌🏻
Hey Mariah, how lovely to have you here - and so lovely to see you're wanting to explore the community element of that which we're creating here - that's at the heart of what we're doing. I'm behind with all my internet based stuff having had a lovely half-term break with my kids, but have ear-marked some time to read your words later. Sending love and thanks for being here x
I’m so happy to have discovered Company of Two and both of your work, Claire and Laura! I’m a new mum (7 weeks new!) and have found this transition to be an unexpected fuel for my creativity, but at the same time that finding ways to channel that and make space for it amongst the demands of new motherhood is incredibly challenging. That’s actually what has brought me to Substack! I’m a newbie here too and really enjoying discovering other people’s work and starting to carve a space of my own. Because why not take on a new project 7 weeks post partum?! 🤪😅
Ahh that makes me so so happy to read. Jen I hear you because I created a whole project for mums in time for my mat leave with my second - you have to just go with it... Substack is a glorious place for you and your ideas, works and thoughts - I think in terms of the postpartum hormones there is some deep feminine magic at play... ⭕️ xx
Looking forward to this! 💫
Thanks so much Sarah! We’re recording this week. 🎙️✨

Aw Kerani - we are so happy to hear from you!! Welcome! ⭕️✨how long have you been a mum?
Three weeks 😆 so I’m still in the weeds of adjusting to newborn life
Oh congratulations to you and your family! What a precious (and intense time) - I watched a lot of middle of the night BRIDGERTON episodes with shortbread and hot chocolate for company in Luna’s first weeks.
I literally just started watching the Queen Charlotte Bridgerton show last night 😆 it’s the perfect late night distraction
Oh escapism tv is the best.
That was some really great advice I got in the early days actually - babies don’t mind if you watch box sets 📺 ❤️
Good point! I don’t watch a ton of TV usually, so if you have any other escapism recommendations I’d love to hear them 🥰

Hello Lauren!! WELCOME ⭕️
I’ve launched a paid membership here and it’s working well. I add journal prompts and zoom/ video behind the paywall.

And @lauren (darn it still no tagging) I really think Simplicity Unlocked could work on here, whilst keeping WhatsApp going
Yeah I think it’s just about whether you see yourself as using it as a space to write or a space to hold space or both?
I think ultimately it’s going to do a lot of soul searching Substack as it’s expanding so rapidly
Yes for sure. There’s defo a content burn out for me but I’ve been here a year and I can only subscribe/ participate so much in one place - I want to read books to! 📖
Oh Claire I’d love to chat more about moving my membership to Substack. Just sent you a DM on Insta as not sure I can do that here?! 😂
Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous and very happy to chat to you about this also sweetie xx
Oh great Lauren - yes I’ll pick that up this weekend. There are no dms here but there is group chat for subs or paid subs. Cx
You might find this post and some of the previous ones I’ve written helpful too - https://open.substack.com/pub/creativelyconscious/p/my-friday-email-substack-tips-for?r=506nf&utm_medium=ios&utm_campaign=post
It can feel a little overwhelming in a new space but we’ve got you! There’s time, we have so much time! ✨🎁⭕️❤️
Yep, Claire has been here over a year now Lauren and is a well-established Substacker so will have plenty o tips my love! Xx she’s aces
Love this idea and excited to see this type of space being created by women. 💜
Thanks Freya, we’re really giddy about it! Xx
Oh that’s so sweet of you to say! Let us know what we can build here for you. ⭕️✨🌷
